The main aim of the Projet des Arts et de l’Oralite et des Scènes Urbaines (PAOSU) is to strengthen the professional capacities of cultural organizations, cultural actors and artists from the Oral Arts sector in Benin in order to set up artistic and socio-educational activities, favoring the promotion of cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue for the improvement of social cohesion and access to culture for the population. The project also seeks to restructure the Fédération Béninoise de Conte et des Arts de l’Oralité (FébéCAO) and its network. The development of the project will consist on 2 workshops, being the first one addressed to 12 heads of cultural organizations and the second one to 12 storytellers. The workshops will be followed by a two-day symposium. Moreover, art classes will allow each of the 12 storytellers to go on an artistic framing experience in a school of his commune for three months. PAOSU will bring together artists and operators, institutions, for an effective synergy of actions over time, including continuation of the organization of the Rencontres Internationales des Arts de l’Oralité (RIAO-2019). The project will be coordinated by the Association Katoulati, a non for profit sociocultural organization based in Bénin, focused on organizing activities related to art and culture, in partnership with the Association Imnrio a Bénin-based organization that seeks to facilitate people’s access to culture in relation to development issues.
