“Sounds of the Sacred Web” (SoSaWeF) is a cultural festival inspired by spirituality, tradition and culture and their impacts on social cohesion and tolerance. The project aims to encourage artists and audience participation and accessibility to social, cultural, recreational and educational experiences that strengthen artistic capabilities.
It is a therapeutic and enriching presentation of traditional and cultural products that seeks to connect, educate and empower a generation by exploring spiritual, traditional, and physical spaces that define the communities. Each activity is intended to communicate the rich and diverse material culture, artistic influences of cultural interactions It is a platform for diverse audience to enjoy different activities inspired by spirituality, tradition and culture within the context of taking people back to their roots. An important event in bringing peace, tranquillity among people separated by modernity and different beliefs. It is built on the basis of Ubuntu: “Because I am therefore you are”.
This project is led by Dzimbanhete Arts and Culture Interactions Trust from Zimbabwe,in partnership with Oja Cultural Development Initiative based in Nigeria. Dzimbanhete Arts and Culture Interactions Trust offers creative skills training, cultural residency programs, cultural exchanges, cultural consultancy services and mentorship programs. And also provides artists with space for exhibitions, events, workshops.
